Triumph have
recalled 2001-2002 Triumph Speed Triple, Triumph Sprint ST, Triumph
Daytona and Triumph Centennial motorcycles because the rear wheel needle
roller bearings can deteriorate and seize. Number Potentially Involved:
1,557. Dates of Manufacture: March 2001 – March 2002. Defect: On certain
motorcycles, the rear wheel needle roller bearings can deteriorate and
seize, causing the rear wheel to lockup. This can cause a loss of
control of the motorcycle. Remedy: Dealers will replace all rear wheel
bearings. The manufacturer has reported that owner notification began
Sept. 19, 2002. Owners should contact Triumph at 1-678-854-2010. NHTSA Recall No. 02V242/Triumph Recall No. 313 |
