Moto Guzzi unveiled its completely new V9 Roamer and Bobber last November and has now announced prices in Italy and availability in Australia.

The Moto Guzzi V9 Roamer and V9 Bobber will be available in Italy for €9890 (about A$14,600) and €10,190 (about A$15,000), respectively. Add in freight, taxes and delivery costs and they will be closer to A$17/18,000 in Australia.

Alana Baratto from Australian Moto Guzzi importers John Sample Automotive says the V9 Roamer and Bobber are expected to arrive in May/June.

“The V9 Roamer will be available in white, yellow and red whilst the V9 Bobber will be available in black and grey. The prices for these models are yet to be announced,” Alana says.

The new V9 models will face some tough competition from the new water-cooled and more powerful 900cc and 1200cc Bonneville range.

They are built on a completely new platform from the Italian manufacturer with both powered by the air-cooled 853cc 90 degree V9 engine with 41kW at 6250 revs and 62Nm of peak torque at 3000Nm with a six-speed transmission.

Like all Guzzis, they are shaft driven.

They come with 40mm forks, Brembo brakes, 320/260mm brake discs, 15-litre tanks, metal fenders, aluminium side panels and weigh 199kg in running order, without fuel.

Both will come standard with two-channel ABS, adjustable two-stage traction control, key immobiliser and USB socket.

While boasting these electronic mod cons, the retro-styled Roamer and Bobber feature 22-spoke wheels rather than the wire wheels of the V7 range, single front discs, thin seats and a single round instrument pod.

Where they mainly differ is in the wheels/tyres and styling.

The Bobber has hi-profile Continental ContiMilestone “balloon” tyres on 16-inch wheels while the Roamer has more conventional rubber and a 19-inch front wheel.

As the name suggests, the Bobber has shortened fenders and matte exhaust while the Roamer has more chrome and gloss paint.

The Roamer has an 87cm seat height while the Bobber is lower at 78cm.
