As the autumn show season kicks into gear, we have a rather congested list of two-wheeled teasers, MotoGP movement and more:

  • BMW Motorrad has dropped a shadowy teaser with a countdown to an October 1 reveal.
  • Liberty Media continues reshaping MotoGP’s front office, with new blood hailing from Formula 1, the NFL, Tottenham Hotspur, and the UFC.
  • Kyle Wyman’s emotional KOTB victory has sparked rumors that Harley-Davidson may pivot toward satellite support and global cup racing.
  • EICMA 2026 is around the corner, so we did a bit of digging to see which major motorcycle OEMs are going.

Might as well kick things off with BMW’s small-displacement teaser, yeah?

Teaser Alert: BMW Previews F450R Parallel-Twin Naked for October 1 Debut

Bavarian Marque Expands Small-Capacity Lineup Alongside TVS

Exactly one week ago, our favorite Bavarian motorcycle manufacturer dropped a silhouette across social channels next to a digital reveal countdown for Thursday, October 1 at 4:00 PM (see BMW’s social media presence on Instagram).

The hit was followed today by some images and the following tease:

“We could show you the all-new BMW F 450 R right now, but then we’d already spoil all the fun. “

With every scrap of evidence pointing to the arrival of BMW’s all-new F450R, we thought we’d get to know this A2-license-friendly naked roadster before the thing gets here tomorrow at 5pm CEST.

Firstly, this motorcycle is derived from the recently introduced F450GS platform and follows a blueprint the Bavarians established with their G310 single-cylinder series. Built in continuing partnership with India’s TVS Motor, the F450R will leverage the 420cc parallel-twin powerplant first seen in the GS variant.

What does this mean for the rider? Accessible, commuter-friendly performance with lower running costs, as well as the GS’s steel trellis mainframe and other clear hardware sharing – five-spoke cast aluminum wheels, single front disc brake, and header pipe routing – to keep showroom pricing competitive. A lower seat height, neutral footpeg placement, reload adjustability out back and an upright handlebar setup has also been chucked on to suit both newer and and city riders alike (lucky to both and all).

Those of you who like bright things will find the upcoming F450R to carry a color TFT display, as well as modern LED lighting. BMW is also probably going to offer its automated Easy Ride Clutch system, making the need to pull the left lever when starting or stopping obsolete.

Tune in for the official livestream reveal over at BMW’s social media presence on Instagram as well as their website at BMW Motorrad.

MotoGP: New Leadership Turnover Includes Talents from Formula 1, UFC

If you were under the impression a motorcycle Grand Prix series needed motorcyclists on their leadership board, think again. Two wheels might carry the responsibility of the spectacle, but the millions MotoGP has generated from marketing strategies and coverage strategies alone is enough to call for heavy hitters from other industries under similar coverage.

In this case, the new leadership turnover following Carlos Ezpeleta’s promotion to Deputy CEO (and Liberty CEO Derek Chang taking the reins as President of the MotoGP Group) comes with four major C-suite faces that have been pulled straight from mainstream sports and entertainment:

Ryan Norys (Chief Commercial Officer)

  • Arrives after four years as Chief Revenue Officer at English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, alongside past tenures with the Miami Dolphins, LA Dodgers, and New York Yankees.

Sameer Pabari (Chief Media Officer)

  • Pabari brings two decades of sports-media pedigree from the NFL, Manchester United, and Warner Bros.

Louise Young (Chief Operating Officer)

  • Young is an eight-year Formula 1 veteran who served as F1’s Chief Race Promotion Officer through its massive post-2020 boom.

Denitza Batchvarova (Chief Strategy Officer)

  • Batchvarova is a long-time strategist who helped steer the UFC through its merger into TKO Group

For fans watching at home, Liberty Media’s decision to bring in new blood to MotoGP leadership is exactly what the organization did to transform Formula 1. Ergo, expect to see broader mainstream storytelling, a calendar pushed more aggressively to social media points, and fresh streaming platforms in the months to come.

Oh, and MotoGP’s parent company – Dorna Sports – is now MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group.

King of the Baggers: What Does Indian’s Win Mean for Harley’s Cinched Budgets?

Kyle Wyman’s New Jersey Win Could Signal a Potential Shift from MotoAmerica to the Global Stage

There are a few things we’ve all known about Harley-Davidson leading up to today, and that’s that the company thrives on lifestyle, the cruise and custom life, and community events. Where Harley-Davidson differs from other OEMs is in its lack of frequency at MotoGP paddocks.

But what if that all changed?

According to Roadracing World and a few other newsstands, Hayden Gillim’s 2026 KOTB title win aboard a Vance & Hines Indian Challenger did not put Harley-Davidson in the spotlight. The King of the Baggers as we know it has evolved from a sideshow into a prototype arms race between America’s two biggest motorcycle manufacturers.

At this point, running a two-rider factory squad now costs an estimated $1.5 million to $3 million – that’s per year – between the custom aluminum chassis components, carbon bodywork, and heavily modded/tweaked Screamin’ Eagle powertrain engines that power the whole shebang.

With Indian capturing the 2026 KOTB win, spending millions on a direct factory operation when rival bikes take top honors carries brutal brand risk. In this case, Indian’s win is paired with Harley-Davidson’s cost-cutting amid softening heavyweight touring sales (and a stupid amount of tariffs).

Justifying an in-house factory effort for KOTB might be getting that much harder for Team Orange. Where’s the proof, you ask? There isn’t much, but there’s enough to get the whispers circulating, and it all came out at the celebration around the Race 2 win completed by Harley-Davidson x Dynojet Factory Race Team Kyle Wyman.

Wyman’s words carried an interesting sense of finality when, instead of talking about off-season development or regaining the crown, a farewell was seemingly said instead:

“How can you sum up what we’ve done with this program? You just can’t… It’s great to give them one more win.”

Did we just watch the factory team’s final laps in MotoAmerica? Possibly, but at this point everything is still conjecture. Harley-Davidson’s new FIM Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup running support rounds alongside MotoGP at tracks like Mugello and Assen might be an indicator on where Halrey wants to eventually put their money, but we won’t really know where Harley-Davison is headed until we get the press release in our hot little hands.

With autumn setting in, the motorcycle industry is turning its focus to Milan’s Fiera Milano Rho for EICMA 2026, running per usual along the first bit of November (November 5–8, press days open November 3). OEMs this year have been a tad quieter than usual this year, so naturally, everybody’s wondering: Who’s going to be at EICMA 2026?

Obviously, confirming who is attending takes time parsing between direct catalog listings, European subsidiaries, and active homologations. After all, many OEMs register under their parent company – like KTM  – or even European Import Channels – like Norton Motorcycles – so this list is always tricky to pin down until the final month.

Per usual, we tried anyways. 🙂

Without further ado, here is who has confirmed is going to EICMA so far (sourced from EICMA’s blueprint exhibitors list):

🇯🇵 The Japanese “Big Four”

Honda Motor Co.

Confirmed (Master Directory)

Big Red is officially listed in the master catalog. Following last year’s concept display of its electric-compressor V3 architecture, Milan will serve as the launchpad for a production-ready iteration (widely expected as the V3R 900 E-Compressor) alongside expanding EV commuter offerings.

Yamaha Motor Co.

Confirmed (Master Directory)

Team Blue is locked into the main hall footprint, preparing mid-cycle overhauls across the MT hyper-naked family, long-distance Ténéré adventure platforms, and updated R-series supersports.

Kawasaki Motors

Confirmed via Campaign (Hall 11)

Team Green bypasses standard directory listings, relying instead on its official European teaser campaign (“Return to Beyond Belief”). Paired with fresh CARB/EPA filings pointing to an updated Ninja H2, Kawasaki is set to anchor its customary footprint in Hall 11.

Suzuki Motor Corporation

Expected (European Distribution Channels)

While Suzuki historically coordinates show logistics through continental dealer and distributor networks rather than direct parent entries, expectations point toward continued expansion of the 800cc parallel-twin platform and middleweight crossovers.

🇪🇺 European Powerhouses

Ducati Motor Holding

Confirmed (Hall 15)

Confirmed on the roster, Borgo Panigale will take over Hall 15 to celebrate its centenary milestones and showcase the next generation of its lightweight V2 engine architecture across new street platforms.

Piaggio Group (Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Vespa)

Confirmed (Halls 9 & 11)

Registered under Piaggio & C. S.p.A., the group commands its usual domestic real estate. Moto Guzzi arrives hot off its Mandello factory revamp, while Aprilia and Vespa bring middleweight parallel-twin updates and urban commuter refreshes to Halls 9 and 11.

Bajaj Mobility AG (KTM, Husqvarna, GasGas, MV Agusta)

Confirmed / Active Rollout

Indian Motorcycle

Confirmed (Master Directory)

Harley-Davidson

Expected (European Showcase)

Milwaukee typically uses European fall stages to present new model-year liveries, regional custom builds, and touring refinements, even while keeping standalone factory unveils close to home.

Zero Motorcycles

Confirmed (Master Directory)

The California electric pioneer returns to Fiera Milano, expanding its urban commuter footprint and accessible sub-$10k platforms.

🇬🇧 Reborn British Icons

BSA Company Ltd

Confirmed (via Pelpi International S.r.l.)

All three brands have secured space through national delegations and European corporate headquarters, targeting mid-weight adventure bikes, high-spec singles, and maxi-scooters.

Hero MotoCorp

Confirmed (via Hero Italia / Biker Tycoon)

Listed via Biker Tycoon/Hero Italia, Hero continues its European push with the Xpulse 421 adventure platform and its Vida electric mobility ecosystem.
