Gentlemen ride for prostate cancer

Gentlemen

Gentleman, start your engines!
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is on this Sunday (September 29) in more than 100 cities worldwide, including five major cities in Australia, in aid of Prostate Cancer research.
Sponsored by Gentlemen Jack twice-mellowed Jack Daniel’s bourbon, it should be a great way to enjoy some time aboard your bike while raising awareness and funds for men’s health issues.
The event started in 2012, and in its first year was held in 64 cities across the world. Since then the ride has grown via word-of-the-mouth and organically through social media.
It was created for owners of cafe racers, bobbers, flat trackers, retros and other classic motorcycles.
The Aussie rides will be held at the following times and locations:
In Sydney, meet at the Whole Bean Cafe on Chapel Street in Marrickville at 9:30am for an 11am start. The after party starts from 1pm at Rum Fire in the Entertainment Quarter.
Melbourne riders meet at the Peter Scullin Reserve in Mordialloc at 9am for an 11am start with an after party at Gasolina in South Wharf.
Riders in Brisbane will gather in the car park at 102 Main Street, Kangaroo Point, at 9am for a 10am with a party from 1pm a the Morrison Hotel, Woolloongabba.
The Newcastle rides starts at 10am at Cafe Inu with a party at 1pm at Wickham Motorcycle Co.
Perth riders gather at Clancy’s in Fremantle at 9am, ride at 11am and party at 1pm at the Brown Fox in West Perth.
Tim Ryder may have an apt name, but the Jack Daniel’s brand manager – talk about best job in the world – says he will be at the Sydney ride.
“Gentlemen Jack is a slightly more premium brand and appeals to older males and the intrinsic nature of the Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride is a good fit for us,” he says.
“We are also very passionate about being active in the community and support many charities around the world.
“This is a great opportunity for us to link into something so important in our community.”
He says they are hoping to raise $250,000 worldwide and are already “nudging $200,000”.
