This is the model that had all the hype in this year’s Ducati lineup. the 2022 Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak aims to elevate the performance of this Italian do-it-all machine to new heights. While the adventure sport-touring Multistrada has always proudly displayed its performance DNA, the Pikes Peak edition aims for corner-carving goodness.
There are plenty of changes for the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak, including revised geometry, updated ergonomics, Ohlins electronic suspension, a new Race Riding Mode, and 17” wheels with sports tires.
A special dedicated riding position has been designed for the Multistrada Pikes Peak V4 to emphasize sport without detracting from comfort. The handlebar has been lowered and narrowed with its sweep reduced. Those updates along promote a bit more weight to the front end for better feel of the road.
The Ohlins electronic suspension is the same kit you will find on the Streetfighter V4 S and Panigale V4 S, which Ducati’s Motorcycles feels is better suited for this road application than the off-road focused Skyhook suspension system. At the touch of a button, one can dial in luxury touring comfort to Panigale sportiness.
New to the Multistrada platform is the Race mode, which offers racetrack throttle response. This tech is transferred over from its superbike cousin. Pair that with the forged-aluminum 17” wheels that save a massive 8.8 pounds of unsprung weight, makes this MS incredibly agile and flickable. One bike for touring and track days? Yes, please.
