BMW Motorrad off-road training, ready for 2016

BMW Motorrad off-road training, ready for 2016BMW Motorrad Australia has expanded its 2016 Off-Road Training Program with three additional course dates to cater for growing demand.

The three Level 1 courses are open to BMW GS owners, as well as other riders interested in adventure motorcycles.

For New South Wales riders, two courses are available; the first based in Dargle (West Sydney) on August 15-16, and the second during the Motorworld event at Sydney Motorsport Park, held on December 2-3.

In Victoria, the additional course is being held at Myrtleford, near Bright, on October 29-30.

During the two-day course, participants work with BMW Motorrad experts to cover fundamental off-road riding techniques, helping them progress from novice to advanced riders.

The two-day Level 1 course is priced at $695 and includes lunch, refreshments and a commemorative T-shirt.

BMW Motorrad has been offering its adventure bike training courses for more than 10 years, training more than 1000 riders including Motorbike Writer who has completed the course near Werribee in Victoria and Conondale in Queensland, learning something new each time.

Some of the skills covered are:

  •  Slow-speed manoeuvring and control
  • Correct body position/balance
  • Throttle and clutch control
  • Cornering
  • Braking
  • Ascending and descending hills safely and confidently
  • Riding over/around obstacles

BMW Motorrad Australia general manager Andreas Lundgren has taken part in the training and encourages riders looking to improve their off-road riding confidence to take part.

“BMW Off-Road Training is the perfect way to increase your confidence, improve your skill set and take your adventure riding to the next level. It’s great to see such high demand for these courses and we are happy to add these extra dates as a result,” Lundgren said.

On top of the three new events, there are still limited spaces available at selected Level 1 and 2 courses in NSW, Victoria and Western Australia. BMW Motorrad off-road training, ready for 2016
