In an attempt to make strapping yourself to an Italian superbike more comfortable, Aprilia offers what is essentially an RSV4 (their peak performance bike) retrofitted with a more upright seating position and better ergonomics for long-distance riding. The Aprilia Tuono is the perfect bike for riders that want to experience Aprilia’s legendary V4 engine with the added ability to enjoy long-distance riding that isn’t hampered by an uncomfortable seating position.
While the RSV4 is marketed as a violent track machine settled nicely in their 2022 lineup, the Tuono V4 is marketed as a violent track machine… With a few comfort quirks. The Tuono V4 shares many of the same components found on the RSV4 such as the same 65° liquid-cooled DOHC 1,077cc V4 mill de-tuned with a smaller bore to produce a much more manageable 175 horsepower and 89 lb-ft of torque through its six-speed transmission.
Although the Tuono V4 benefits from a more comfortable riding position when compared to the RSV4, it is still quite aggressive; but not aggressive enough that it makes city riding and long-distance riding a far-fetched dream.
The upright seating position paired with Cornering ABS, pit limiter, cruise control, various rider modes (for both on and off-track) make it a serious contender for riders seeking a machine similar to the RSV4 but with a more relaxed approach. Like the RSV4, many recent updates to the platform came in 2021 in the form of an updated swingarm and sturdier subframe for making passenger traveling a breeze.
If the standard Tuono V4 isn’t enough for you, Aprilia also offers a “Factory Edition” that brings an upgraded Brembo brake package and overhauls the suspension with an Öhlins NIX front fork and Öhlins TTX single shock absorber with piggy-back managed by Smart EC 2.0 electronics.

Absolute power, total control
The Tuono V4 remains the only naked powered by the unique four-cylinder narrow 65° V engine. It may be Euro-5 compliant, but that hasn’t come at the cost of the inimitable sound and famed outstanding performance. With its 175 horsepower and 121 Nm, together with the dazzlingly balanced chassis and advanced electronics package, this extraordinary 1077-cc V4 is set to continue to dominate the entire Hypernaked category.
A new style
The new style of the Tuono V4 is inspired by the RS 660, with its innovative double fairing with aerodynamic appendix function, characterised by reduced surfaces and the new triple LED light configuration with DRLs that include “bending lights”. The new design puts the focus on ergonomics with a revamped fuel tank shape and tail faring creating more space and a better fit for the rider.

The Tuono V4 is no slouch either in the speed department, but with new ergonomics and specially-designed accessories, it is the perfect companion for touring and adventures near and far.
With six Riding Modes, three each for both road and track, riders simply need to select the preferred setting and parameters such as Traction Control, Wheelie Control, ABS and the engine brake will be automatically adjusted to deliver the mode selected.
Daytime Running Lights
The fairing contains a triple front LED light combination with perimetral DRLs positioned around the two main headlights in an illuminated signature that makes the Tuono V4 instantly day or night.
A revolutionary chassis
The already legendary chassis and incomparable riding experience are taken up another notch with the addition of a new, lightweight aluminium swingarm with a lower reinforcement brace.
