Police have been using helmet cameras for years, so why were they not legal for civvies?

Police are still calling for eyewitnesses or camera evidence. If you have information for police, contact Policelink on 131 444 or provide information using the online form 24 hours a day.
It is alleged that just before 8.00pm, a man was driving a truck south along Waterford-Tamborine Road, when it collided with a motorcyclist heading in the opposite direction,” a police media statement says.
It is further alleged that the truck driver failed to stop and was last seen travelling west on Anzac Avenue towards Chambers Flat.
