Remember when Husqvarna released their uprated Vitpilen 701? They discontinued the poor peashooter after a mere two and a half years, with rumors in the industry originally hinting that there could be a Vitpilen 890 in the works (via Motorcycles News).

Well, it’s been two years since that update, and we’ve finally gotten a glimpse of the long-anticipated successor to the 701. Take a look:

Coverage from Dan Sutherland at MCN shows a Vitpilen with a different chassis than typical for the Vitpilen range. It’s a twin to the frame KTM’s used for their popular middleweight naked, the Duke 890, with a pretty 889cc twin heart boasting a ballpark of 115hp (and 92 Nm of torque), courtesy of Husqie’s exceptional adventure touring tool, the Norden 901.

Included in the spy shots are a view of Michelin rubbers, as well as an homage to the old 701 with a round LED at the front and identical squashed, horizontal LED at the back.

Add a color TFT screen, and you’ve got an updated, uprated, upgraded piece of pretty for Husqvarna ranges.

We don’t know when this thing will be revealed to our industry, so stay tuned for updates as they trickle down the pipeline.
