Dora has the engine (heart) of a KZ 1000 police special salvaged from a junkyard and the soul of high plains drifter. She is the creation of Fernando Rosales, the man behind Mexico’s Barba Negara Metal Works. Dora is tribute to rust and grit that was fitted with new bearings, seals and rebuilt carbs while the frame was left to acquire a natural patina outside in the rain and then sanded and lacquer’d over to keep her looking junkyard fresh. Many of her parts were handmade: gas tank, rear fender, battery holders, seat, foot pegs, handlebars and more pieces were handmade by Fernando with the help of his good friend Cristian Mungarro.
