Shoei Neotec Helmet Safety

Shoei Neotec Helmet EPS

Review Summary
Pros
Cons

February 18, 2012 – I met one of the Shoei helmet designers at the show and he had a cutaway version of the new Shoei Neotec (review) that was recently reviewed on webBikeWorld.com.

This cutaway sample is very interesting because it illustrates why we discovered that the upper ventilation is so good on this helmet.

You can see the multiple channels through the EPS; they were painted blue for better visibility.

Also, the stainless steel “jaws” on the side of the helmet inside the chin bar that hold the rotating flip-up visor locked are visible.

And finally, you can see the EPS foam and cheek pad material installed in the helmet also. Very interesting, and not a view one typically sees on a helmet — especially a brand-new, flip-up model!
