2011 Powersports Dealer Expo Live Report

Bags-Connection Sport Panniers Motorcycle Luggage for Sportbikes

Twisted Throtle, the distributor for Bags-Connection motorcycle luggage in the U.S., introduced a new sportbike soft luggage system at the 2011 Dealer Expo.

The Bags-Connection Sport Panniers use a new system that provides clip-on bars that attach to the side of the motorcycle for support and security.

The bags slide over the bars, then a very large hook-and-loop strap goes over the top of the seat to hold the bags in place.

The back of each bag has a fabric (looks like heavy nylon Cordura type material) in the shape of a tube. The tube slides easily over the bar to provide the lateral support.

Each bag also has a nylon web strap with a clip that secures to the base that holds the bar, which prevents the bags from sliding backwards.

The bars can be removed from each side when the Sport Panniers are removed to give the motorcycle a near stock look, with no unsightly luggage racks in the back.

The bags are made from a heavy-duy 1680 ballistic nylon and each bag has an internal volume of 14 liters. A top zipper allows access to the bag and each bag has an additional small pocket on the outside. The bags also have a top handle to allow carrying when off the bike.

The kit includes the bags, the mounting system and waterproof bag liners. The Sport Pannier system is currently available for most sportbikes from the major manufacturers, such as BMW (S1000RR), Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Triumph (Sprint GT) and Yamaha. New versions are also on the way. More information at Twisted Throttle.
