Four historic motorcycle sidecar outfits that were a barn find and three legendary Brough Superiors are being auctioned at the H&H Classics Donington sale on November 16, 2016.

Recently a pair of creaking barn doors swung open to reveal a jackpot.

There were four motorbikes with sidecars from the 1920s and 1930s covered in the dust of two decades in Gloucestershire.

They had been collected by the same family who loved motorbike sidecars. The four bikes were scheduled for a museum that never happened says Mark Bryan of H&H Classics Motorcycle Department.

“It would have been a very happy result to find one of these marvellous old combos in the barn, to find four was amazing,” Mark says.

“I could barely believe it at first. Sometimes you just get lucky!”

The outfits in original condition are a 1924 AJS Model D Combo; a 1932 BSA G12 Combo used by the Bath City Police and still bearing the name; a 1930 BSA Sloper Combo; and a 1925 Quadrant Combo.

The three legendary Brough Superiors are estimated to sell for record-breaking prices of more than a quarter of a million dollars.

“These bikes (Broughs) are incredibly collectable and they continue to rise in value,” Mark says.

“The strength of the vintage motorcycle market has been growing year on year, and does not seem to have been hindered by the current economic slow down.”
