New Killer Boots from Sidi
Sidi wanted to create a booth that was lighter in the upper but still offered some serious ankle protection and replaceable parts. What the company came up with is the Sidi Atojo SR. These boots feature a dual ankle hinge with one hinge above the ankle and one below.
The boot is designed to prevent hyperextension of the ankle, protect the instep, and protect the Achilles tendon. Nine-time MXGP World Champion Antonio Carioli, two-time MX2 champion Jorge Prado, and long-time MXGP racer Alessandro Lupino all worked with Sidi’s team on the details of the boots. The name Atojo comes from their names: A (Alessandro Lupino) – TO (Tony Cairoli) JO (Jorge Prado).
The boots feature microfiber panels with high impact plastic protection, high impact plastic around the entire toe area and heel, protective suede on the inner shin, a three-buckle closure system, an elastic gaiter around the calf, a two-inch flex point system, and a unique SR Dovetail sole. The sole is unique in that it features an interchangeable design with a rubber insert in the center with an interlocking Dovetail system and four screws for easy replacement.
