wBW, Meet the ruggedly handsome 2022 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR; a track-focused, modern cafe racer with the garb of a gent and the heart of a troublemaker.
Triumph released the Speed Triple RS‘s sibling early this morning with a press release that showed the partially-fairinged beastie in proper style.
Let’s take a quick look under the hood.
The Speed Triple 1200 RR features a new set of lowered handlebars – clip-on, of course – along with footpegs moved up and slightly back to complement the more aggressive riding position.

It’s a full 0.2 inches lower than the RS, which complements the drool-worthy Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 fully-adjustable, semi-active suspension system – a program that continuously adjusts compression and rebound damping in a choreographed ballet to complement any riding requirement.
On top of the very cool, slightly-lowered, retro-style front fairing to improve aerodynamics, the bike cruises on a pair of Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tyres (an upgrade from the Metzeler Racetec RR K3s of the RS), with the option to upgrade to Diablo Supercorsa SC2 V3 slicks for the track.
Both the RR and the RS house the same Liquid-cooled, 12-valve, DOHC, inline 3-cylinder that boasts 177 pretty ponies at 10,750 rpm and torque you can sink your teeth into with 92 lb-ft at 9000 rpm.
Other specs include a slip-and-assist clutch, a quick shifter that Triumph took from their experiences at the Moto2 Championships, cornering ABS, five ride modes, an IMU, advanced front wheel lift control, a fully adjustable cruise control, switchable cornering traction control, a five-inch full-color TFT display and a keyless system tossed in for good measure.
Top it all off with carbon fiber blessing the front fender, side panels, and infill panels around the fairing/tank/cockpit, and you’ve got yourself a 199kg monster that marries the perfect combination of grunge and sophistication.
The price is right at $20,950 USD – that’s $2,450 more than the RS, with the potential to deck the Triple RR further on Triumph’s website with machined brake reservoirs, scrolling turn signals, heated grips, and luggage options.
