MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800

Turismo Veloce 800 1MV Agusta has unveiled its first sports tourer, the hi-tech Turismo Veloce 800.

It means “fast touring” but it’s not touring very fast to Australia. We will have to wait until 2015 for the bike to arrive, according to the importers, MV Augusta Imports.

Turismo Veloce features integrated panniers, LED headlamp and taillamp, a compact triple exhaust and single-sided aluminium-alloy swingarm.

As the name implies the Turismo Veloce 800 is powered by a 798cc three-cylinder engine with 93kW, dry weight of 207kg and a claimed top speed of 240km/h.

It features the new MVCSC (MV Agusta Chassis Stability Control) electronic stability control system, electronically controlled semi-active Turismo Veloce 800 2suspension, MVICS 2.0 (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System), EAS 2.0 (electronically assisted shifting) gear change system that allows clutchless gear shifts, an engine immobilizer, ABS, an integrated GPS and even an anti-wheelie system.

There is also a Turismo Veloce Lusso version with a host of extras.

On the Lusso, the MVCSC 2.0 system controls the bike’s Sachs front fork and rear monoshock, with the ECU using MV’s ‘Skyhook’ algorithm to adjust the suspension’s compression and rebound damping on the fly, based on road conditions, speed and other variables.
