October 17, 2013 – Sena had another major announcement today at the AIMExpo in Orlando, Florida.

In addition to the Sena Action Camera (preview), Sena has announced the new Sena 20S intercom.

The all-new Sena 20S is a state-of-the-art motorcycle and powersports Bluetooth communication system.

It has a newly redesigned “Jog Dial” for better feel when wearing gloves. The jog dial can also be moved with a fingertip at the back of the intercom.

The Sena 20S intercom has several industry firsts for a motorcycle Bluetooth communication headset.

These include the introduction of Bluetooth 4.0 technology and dual internal Bluetooth communication hardware devices.

The new Bluetooth technology increases the performance and reliability of the headset while also allowing for increased high definition audio quality.

The two internal Bluetooth controllers provide “smart” switching back and forth to allow music and GPS commands to be heard while the rider is using the intercom or telephone.

Sena calls this the “Audio Multitasking” feature.

Voice commands have been built into the 20S to ensure riders can maintain hands-free control while riding.

Sena 20S users can use voice commands to call hands-free with their Bluetooth mobile phone; control the FM radio; command the intercom to play music and give voice instructions of GPS navigation, all while having intercom conversations in full duplex with a passenger or other riders.

The 20S will be available for ordering at the end of 2013 with pricing yet to be determined and shipping will begin at the start of 2014.

From “L.S.” (November 2013): “Great! It’s a long time I’m looking for a Bluetooth intercom that allows listening to other devices without interrupting passenger conversations (like Autocom do, but wired).

I suppose that the Multipoint connection feature (like in SMH10) is still available. I’m curios if music and GPS commands can be heard simultaneously or alternatively. And if the music must be played from the GPS unit itself, or if it could come from the phone. Please test this unit as soon as possible! 🙂
