Listen, there’s enough going on here for even us to be confused, let alone talk about it.

A stuntman with a sack over his head has just done a 60-piece, cone-stippled course on a Vespa in a nonstop wheelie – blindfolded – to log the world’s “Longest Wheelie On a Vespa.”

And you can’t get the lid off that pickle jar?

Me neither dude, but hey, I’ll talk about it while you go find a can opener or something.

Coverage from RideApart states that Austrian stuntman Günter Schachermayr, or “Lumpi,” completed the trick in Austria’s Red Bull Ring to a crowd of over 30,000, removing his scooter’s front wheel to show the sincerity of his stunt.

Curious as to how the air-starved Lumpi got through that course with a sack over his head?

Apparently, he was fed instructions through a headset from his camera car, completing the course only after a quick prep of 15 minutes hooked up to medical-grade oxygen “just to make sure he wouldn’t suffer any long-term injuries as a result of the stunt.”

It turns out, the session with atomic number 8 was just what Lumpi needed to complete the course in a brilliant, leg-wobbling two minutes and 17 seconds – though the stuntman had more than a few complaints after the record was all said and done.

“This black facemask does not let the air through and is tightened by the closure around the neck,” complains Günter (understandably).

“After the first 100 meters, your ears start to buzz; after 200 meters, you struggle to hear the commands that reach you via radio; after 300 meters, you can only find your way around, and then the fight for survival begins. Towards the end, I panicked, but I made it, and I’m thrilled to have set a new world record!”

With his Vespa now tucked away in preparation for the next bit of world-class wonder, we look forward to seeing what Lumpi gets up to in the coming years.

Goodness knows the man deserves a break for the next season or three.
