The 2022 Ducati Diavel 1260: Powerful and Muscular
Contents
Ducati’s coveted Diavel has always been somewhat of the ‘Lamborghini’ of their esteemed lineup. Heck, they even did a collaboration with Lamborgini on a previous version of the Diavel. Its extreme looks paired with its torque-focused performance capabilities brings something fresh to the Ducati lineup, and it has managed to stay fresh since it first hit the scene in 2010.
If you’re familiar with Ducati’s most popular model – the Monster – the best way to explain the Diavel to someone who hasn’t seen it before would be to liken it to a Monster that has been fed human growth hormone (or some motorcycle-based variant). To be frank, the thing is jacked. Italians may not be too keen on American football, but the Diavel 1260 is the prototype for an all-star linebacker. The exotic and muscley appearance alone gives it a one-of-a-kind aesthetic that is completely unique to the Diavel family heritage. The unique look paired with its spec sheet combines for a truly special riding experience.
The steel trellis frame and oversized fuel tank perfectly “frames” (pardon the pun) the masterpiece of a Testastretta DVT 1,262cc engine capable of laying down a hot 155 horsepower to its oversized 240mm rear tire thanks to its ride-by-wire system and three rider modes.
As with the majority of expensive Italian motorcycles, the Diavel 1260 comes fully loaded with any and every electronic riding aid you could ever need (ABS, TC, wheelie control, etc). The Italian motorcycle manufacturer’s 2022 lineup also brings the Diavel 1260 in two variants: the ‘standard’ 1260, and an ‘S’ version to top it off.
For some extra spice (and extra coin), the ‘S’ version of the 1260 comes with some aesthetic changes such as gold finishing on the front forks, a special colorway, and some other key performance parts.
Although both models feature a 3.5 inch TFT instrument cluster, the ‘S’ comes with Ducat’s Multimedia System (DMS) which allows for hands-free calling and navigation on the roads. A quick-shifter paired with an Ohlins 48mm adjustable front fork allows for a weight difference of 4 lbs when compared to the standard version, but beyond that small sliver of weight being shed the bikes still remain virtually identical on the spec sheets.
The 2022 Ducati Diavel 1260 starts at $20,295 USD / $ 26,695 CAD.
The 2022 Ducati Diavel 1260S starts at $23,395 USD / $28,195 CAD.

The Ride by Wire (RbW) control matched with three Riding Modes and three Power Modes allows to personalise engine responsiveness. A true beauty, as far as mechanics and design go, and a real game changer on the road.
Ergonomics
Sportiness and comfort meet in the new Diavel. The trellis frame ensure lightness and torsional rigidity, while the adjustable fork provides comfort and stability. The care devoted to ergonomics is complemented by the perfect combination of a higher handlebar, a lower seat and central footpegs, with a comfortable and versatile riding position. The S version is fitted with Öhlins suspensions, for a guaranteed fun and an exciting riding experience.
