Italian dirt bike manufacturer Speedy Working Motors (SWM) is returning to Australia.

The first model in the range to be released here will be the RS650R adventure bike.

The 2016 range also includes the RS300R and RS500R enduros, SM500R and SM650R supermoto, the Silver Vase 440 scrambler and the Gran Milano 440 roadster, powered by 445cc thumpers.

In Australia, the enduro range will be imported by Mojo Motorcycles who import CFMoto, Sherco dirt bikes, TGB scooters and KTM bicycles.

Mojo boss Michael Poynton says they will start with the enduro range and will import the road bikes as soon as they are available.

Australian brand manager Stephen Tuff says the learner-approved RS 650R is available now at an introductory price of $8990 plus on-road costs. The introductory offer will run until the end of January, 2016.

It comes with quality components such as Brembo brakes, GET ignition and Mikuni throttle body feeding the 600cc liquid-cooled engine that drives a six-speed transmission, Sachs rear shock and Marzocchi forks.

“The dual-sport end of the adventure bike market is burning bright right now and the RS 650R will fit in nicely at a very competitive price point,” Stephen says.

“SWM has proven pedigree. The factory in Biandronno, Italy, is the former Husqvarna factory where CEO Ampelio Macchi was chief engineer. The SWM RS 650R is based on the Husqvarna TE630. Mr Macchi knows this is a great platform to build an exceptional dual-purpose bike because he built it.

“Not only are there plenty of old TE630 fans out there looking to update to a similar machine, there’s already a number of quality accessories available for this bike including a 25-litre Safari Tank, bash plates from B&B Off-Road and Force Accessories, and mufflers from Barrett Exhaust.”

Details of dealerships will be announced soon on their Facebook page.
