Wenol Metal Polish

If you
own a motorcycle, you've probably come across an advertisement for
Wenol at some time or another. Fortunately, most European
motorcycles don't have a lot of chrome or metal that needs
polishing, but after a while, pipes and mufflers can start to look
pretty sad, and almost every bike has a few bits and pieces of
chrome or aluminum that get tarnished. I've resisted the
chore of cleaning the metal bits on my bikes for quite some time,
so this was a good opportunity to try out this product.
The bad news is that there is no 21st century instant solution to
polishing metal -- unfortunately, it's still a tedious
chore.
The good news is that Wenol works. The worst condition of
tarnishing I could find was on a set of header pipes pictured on
the bike below. I tried using another brand of metal polish I had
laying around on for comparison, and the results were pretty
lame. The Wenol brought up a nice shine on the pipes, but
you have to rub pretty hard to do it. It's nice to know that
when I get the energy to attack all the metal bits on my bikes
that Wenol is up to the challenge!

Here are the header
pipes after using "Brand X" metal polish. You
can see it didn't do much. |
Here are the same pipes after the Wenol
treatment. It brought out a
nice shine
