South Australian riders have been urged to make a submission for the new 10-year Road Safety Strategy.
The controversial SA Road Safety Strategy 2020 ‘Towards Zero Together’ ends this year and the state government is developing a new 10-year plan to guide safety decisions and investment up to 2031.
Tim Kelly of SA’s Ride to Review rider representation group encourages as many riders as possible to take the time to participate in the survey to “help shape future government programs”.
The SA government points out that motorcyclists are among vulnerable road users who represent one-third of the 482 people killed and 3482 seriously injured in road crashes in the past five years.
Submissions can be made by clicking here and completing the online survey developed by the Centre for Automotive Safety and Research.
The survey provides a lot of motorcycle references, multiple choice answers and room to add your own comments.
Consultation closes on Monday, 2 November 2020.
SA’s new 10-year Road Safety Strategy focuses on regional, metropolitan and remote roads where motorcyclists tend to ride.
The draft strategy will be available for feedback on yourSAy in 2021.
