A New Appointment

The area in Italy known as Motor Valley is aptly named. The headquarters and factories of several famous Italian motoring companies are there, including Lamborghini, Ferrari, Pagani, Dallara, and Ducati are all in the region. With Ducati being placed near the center of this region, the Motor Valley Development Association decided to name Claudio Domenicali president.

Domenicali said that he would like to encourage education and outreach in ways that would benefit the region and help with development.

“This Region enjoys an unparalleled academic culture and unmatched motoring and technological skills,” said Domenicali, according to RideApart. “It’s also a magnet for enthusiasts, new talent and businesses and as such deserves our wholehearted support.”

This focus on education and outreach will likely serve the region well. Motorsports and automotive and motorcycle technology is what will drive the vehicles of the future and if the companies in this region plan to continue to be dominant forces they will need to focus on this.

It’s not unsurprising to see Domenicali talk like this, and I wish him well in his efforts as president. It’s another feather in the cap of a very influential man in the motorcycle world. It will be interesting to see how this impacts Ducati in the future.
