Avon Tires announces motorcycle racing tires for the Triumph Thruxton
Challenge.
Avon Tires announced today that race spec tires are
available for use in the Triumph Thruxton Challenge race series.
Racing tires for the Triumph Thruxton in original equipment
sizes have not been available until now. The racing rules dictate that
the original equipment Triumph wheels for the Thruxton must be used.
Race spec tires have been difficult to find until this announcement.
Avon now has the popular AM22 and AM23 “Race Only”
motorcycle tires available to Thruxton racers through a few select
distributors nationwide. These are motorcycle racing tires, and are
not street legal. They're designed to be used for closed course
competition use only.
The front motorcycle tire is the AM22 110/80VB18 designed
for use on a 2.50” rim and the rear tire is the AM23 130/80VB17 designed for
use on a 3.50” rim.
