Motorcycle Helmet Bag Review

A Motorcycle Helmet Storage Bag

Review Summary
Pros
Cons

OK, so you bought that $800.00 SCHUBERTH S1 motorcycle helmet (review).

Now where are you going to store it?

You certainly can’t stuff a helmet like that in a greasy cabinet in the corner of the garage. That would be like parking a Rolls Royce in a carport!

What to do?

Roadgear to the rescue with the “Ultimate Helmet Garage”.

Maybe it was a product before it’s time — after all, who anticipated we’d be seeing $800.00 helmets? But it’s just right for the likes of the SCHUBERTH S1, the Shark RSR or any other lid. Heck, it even works for helmets costing a tenth as much!

The Ultimate Helmet Garage is made in the U.S.A., which is a pleasant surprise.

Most other luggage retailers have long since resorted to overseas sourcing, so it’s nice to know that someone still cares about local sourcing.

The Ultimate Helmet Garage has got to be the most super-deluxe lid locker available anywhere. This is no simple helmet bag folks – it’s a huge helmet storage system, capable of holding a helmet and lots of other associated gear.

They should have thrown in a shoulder harness – this thing’s big enough to use for a week long holiday!

Open the garage “door” with its hefty zipper pulls, and you’re looking into a 30 cm wide (12″) cavern that’s 45 cm (17-3/4″) deep and 30 cm (12″) high. The garage is made with heavy-duty DuPont Cordura fabric, just like textile motorcycle jackets and luggage.

The internal sides and rear walls are covered in a soft fleece. A drop-down fleece panel is located at the top that can be used to store spare visors. It attaches to the top of the garage with a “hook and loop” fastener.

The door also has its own pocket on the front with a two-way zipper.

The zipper for this pocket is located about 1/3 of the way from the top and opens about 23 cm wide (9″). Inside, the pocket runs the full length of the door, which means that there’s plenty of room to stuff in all sorts of goodies.

There are a couple of stiffeners in the walls and floor, which also have a “Tempurfoam” filler. The bottom is covered in Roadgear’s “Toughtek” rubber-like fabric, the same as their tank bags.

The two sides and the top the garage each have a mesh pocket with a sewn-in piece of elastic as a “waistband” . These can be used to hold gloves, helmet liners, earplugs or other accessories.

The front and back of the garage even include the “Roadgear” logo in a 3M Scotchlite reflective strip.

There’s a big brass eye ring attached to the rear floor of the garage, and a nylon webbed handle at the front. These can be used to hang the garage from a hook, carry it around or bungee it to your bike in a pinch.

The Ultimate Helmet Garage is the perfect storage facility for your favorite helmet. Don’t forget, the holidays are just around the corner, and this would make a perfect gift!
