BMW R100RS
A bike I owned once: a
1984 BMW R100RS
"Last Edition". Purchased from a friend, who was the
second owner. I was in mint condition; includes the bags, dual
saddle, original tool kit, original BMW "trouble light",
original air pump and more. Here's a copy of the 1975
Cycle
Magazine (RIP) road test of the first edition of the BMW R100RS.
I realized that I did not like the "up high and leaned
over" riding position and I ended up selling it.
As far as I'm concerned, if I don't enjoy riding 'em, I
don't enjoy owning 'em, no matter how beautiful!
BMW R100RS Tires: Tire sizes
for the R100RS are the 3.25-19 front and 4.00-18 rear. Modern size
replacements are 100/90-19 front and 120/90-18 rear. Tires are
available in these sizes from Avon (AM18 F/R); Bridgestone (BT45);
Continental (Blitz, TK11/TK12 F/R); Metzeler (ME33 front and ME99A rear);
Michelin (Macadam 50 & 50E). Metzeler recommends a 100/90-19
front and 4.00-18 rear.
