2008 Motorcycle Statistics

October 2008 - It's usually difficult to find statistics on topics relating to motorcycle use, motorcycle sales or motorcycle theft, but the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association publishes regular reports that usually include some interesting tidbits about the motorcycle industry. 

Here is a sampling of tables taken from a recent publicly available document that was sent to us, entitled "The Motor Industry of Japan 2008". 

The document does not include background information; it appears instead to be a collection of graphs and charts, mostly related to Japanese automobile production.  But there was a small section with some interesting motorcycle statistics that included the following charts (note that 2006 is the most recent year for which some of the data was available).  For more information see our Motorcycle Sales Statistics and Information page.
