Harley-Davison Finalizes
MV Agusta Sale
August 6, 2010 -- Harley-Davidson
reported today that they have finalized the sale of MV Agusta to
Claudio Castiglioni and his wholly owned holding
company, MV Agusta Motor Holding, S.r.l. as of this
date.
Castiglioni is the former owner of the Italian
motorcycle maker and has served as MV Agusta's chairman
since 2008, when Harley-Davidson acquired the company.
In October 2009, Harley-Davidson announced its
intention to sell MV Agusta as part of a new corporate
strategy to focus resources on the Harley-Davidson
brand. Since then, Harley-Davidson has held discussions
with various potential MV Agusta buyers.
"MV Agusta is a proud brand and we wish Mr.
Castiglioni and the company's employees well," said
Harley-Davidson President and Chief Executive Officer
Keith Wandell.
"Our decision to divest MV Agusta
reflects our strategy to focus our efforts and our
investment on the Harley-Davidson brand, as we believe
this provides an optimal path to long-term growth."
2010 MV Agusta F4 Recall
June 29, 2010 - MV Agusta is
recalling 66 of the 2010 F4 models manufactured from
February 10 through April 19 of 2010.
These motorcycles are equipped with an air filter frame
with the part number 8000B4061. It may lift out of
position, allowing intake air to bypass the filter.
If this occurs, debris may enter the throttle body
assembly and interfere with proper throttle operation.

Legendary Two-Stroke Tuner
Named to AMA
Motorcycle Hall of Fame
June 23, 2010 - The American Motorcyclist
Association announced the eighth member of the AMA
Motorcycle Hall of Fame Class of 2010: Eyvind Boyesen, one of the most accomplished two-stroke
engine tuners in motorsports.
Boyesen, whose skills in the
garage translated into success in the marketplace, will
be among the legends of motorcycling honored at the 2010
induction ceremony at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas
on Nov. 19, 2010.
AMA Director of Operations and Hall of Famer Jack Penton
said "Eyvind developed many of his innovations in
an era of great change in performance off-road
motorcycling, and in the process joined other AMA
Motorcycle Hall of Famers in becoming a household name
in the sport. Every day riders and national champions alike used Boyesen's products over the years, and many more will in
years to come."
Although Boyesen Engineering has long since branched
into other areas of innovation, off-road racers in the
1970s through the 1990s knew Boyesen through
marketing of the company's aftermarket two-stroke performance
reeds. Boyesen's reeds set the standard as one of the
leading aftermarket replacement parts of the two-stroke
era, and often were one of the first modifications
racers made to a new machine.
