Feb. 13, 2009 – Brembo continued its practice of introducing innovative high-performance motorcycle products for the North American market at Dealer Expo in Indianapolis this weekend.

The new product offerings include the 15RCS master cylinder, a nickel-finish brake caliper, a Supermotard brake disc and a number of accessories for the well-received 19RCS master cylinder introduced last year at Dealer Expo.

With knowledge gained from years of research and from its many victories in the world of top motorsports competition, Brembo says they are “able to offer constant innovation involving new technologies, materials and state-of-the-art products that results in the most comprehensive line of high-performance braking systems and components in the world”.

“This means that when motorcycle enthusiasts decide to replace their OE system with Brembo high-performance products, not only can they improve their ride in terms of performance and safety, but they can also add value to their motorcycle’s aesthetics”, according to the company.

Every Brembo high-performance product for motorcycles has received TÜV/ABE certification from the German Federal Authority for Road Transport, “another important declaration of Brembo quality and further confirmation of Brembo’s design and manufacturing skills”, they said.

Brembo 15RCS Master Cylinder

Brembo used Dealer Expo to showcase the 15RCS master cylinder intended specifically for Naked and SuperMotard machines.

The 15RCS master cylinder has all the technological features of the 19RCS – the most popular M/C with enthusiasts namely the Ratio Click System, the same component specifications as for MotoGP systems, hard- anodized cylinder body and folding lever.

With the 15RCS, the user can change the lever pivot distance from 18mm to 20mm simply by turning the adjuster inside the cylinder.

This brake master cylinder can be matched with the 16RCS clutch master cylinder introduced last year, giving a set-up that will deliver MotoGP performance, as well as being a real attention grabber.

Another featured innovation at Dealer Expo was an enhanced version of the high- performance radial calipers that were developed from Brembo’s MotoGP experience and introduced at the 2006 (Japanese Sportbikes) and 2007 Dealer Expo (European Sportbikes).

These one-piece calipers that are interchangeable on the standard radial forks of various Sportbikes are now nickel-coated thereby optimizing the manufacturing tolerances while providing an extremely attractive look, a simple innovation that enhances both performance and reliability.

Supermotard Brake Disks

The range of Brembo full-floating rotors has been increased with new discs for Super a SM450.

This new range integrates the existing one for Japanese and European Superbikes introduced at Dealer Expo in 2006 and 2007 respectively.

The new discs are 320 mm diameter and are thicker than the equivalent OE rotors. The braking surface is drilled with holes designed to maximize performance and control when the pads are applied, as well as reducing the weight of the rotating part for better ride ability.

Accessory Kits for RCS Radial Master Cylinder

With the success of the 19RCS radial master cylinder last year and the launch of the new 15RCS this year, the Brembo engineers have developed a whole line of accessories for these innovative products:

Remote Adjuster Kit with CBW System

The remote adjuster and Click by Wire ( system is derived directly from the world of competition and provides track enthusiasts with a micrometric brake lever adjustment system guaranteed to be dependable under all riding conditions.

Available as a kit, the CBW system is easily installed on the adjustment control associated with the lever of the RCS master cylinder.  The torque and movement generated by the lever is transmitted by a special steel cable made up of twisted strands encased in a white PVC tube, typical of competition equipment, which has the advantage that torque is transmitted without the negative effects of torsion on the cable.

The lever span adjuster – used to increase or reduce the distance between the lever and the throttle grip – is incorporated into the torque transmission flange, which has a surface specially machined (knurled) to produce the micrometric click action.

The knurling is done on a lathe, and has the effect of texturing a part of the metal surface so as to generate more friction when the appropriate force is applied – a smooth surface would not provide the same grip – thereby ensuring better control of the part when in use.

The remote adjuster kit includes an aluminum clevis mount (machined from billet) located on the clutch side of the handlebar.

The adjuster knob can be set at a preferred angular position, as on competition bikes, thanks to a clevis fashioned from solid filled reinforced nylon that can rotate on its axis to suit the needs and riding style of the individual user.  The special shape of the knob will guarantee a secure grip in the most extreme conditions, even when wearing gloves.

The cable is supplied in one size and adaptable to all major Supersport bikes by reducing and adjusting the length as necessary. The kit includes cable, clevis and flange, and comes with full fitting instructions.

Clamp for Unfaired Bikes

Brembo offers a new clamp for rporating a mount for the rear view mirror.  The body of the clamp is hard anodized, with the Brembo logo laser-etched into the surface.

Reservoir Kit for RCS Master Cylinders

Purchasers of RCS master cylinders now also have the option of a kit comprising reservoir, bracket, rubber hose and threaded fasteners.

Available both for the brake side and for the clutch side, the kit is simple and extremely quick to install.  The brake and clutch reservoirs are of dissimilar capacity, given that the amount of fluid required is different. Mounting brackets are aluminum.

Clamp with CNC Machined Logo

For enthusiasts keen to get their prized possession looking like a MotoGP or r Supersport machine, Brembo offers a special bracket clamp for RCS master cylinders with the Brembo logo CNC-machined into the surface and then finished with the characteristic red paint used on racing calipers and M/Cs.

The clamp is supplied with 2 spare screws and can be used with the entire range of RCS brake and clutch master cylinders.
