Race Results
Rizla Suzuki racer Cal Crutchlow scored his best ever points haul at a British Superbike meeting at the 11th round of the Championship at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire today.

In front of a massive Bank Holiday Monday crowd and in warm sunshine, starting from seventh on the second row, he finished fifth in the opening race and then went one better to take a fourth in the second.

His round total of 24-points is well ahead of his previous best of 18 at the ninth round at Mallory Park and moves him into the top 10 in the Championship standings.

Rizla Suzuki's Chris "Stalker" Walker kept getting faster as the weekend progressed.  He came home with very respectable eight and sixth place finishes after starting from 10th on the grid.  Ducati's Leon Haslam won the opening race and Honda's Jonathan Rea the second.

Crutchlow, Walker and triple British Superbike Champion John Reynolds will be at the annual Crescent Open weekend this Saturday and Sunday September 1st - 2nd at the Performance Centre in Verwood, Dorset.

The team returns to race action at Donington Park and the penultimate round of the Championship on September 23rd.

Cal: Crutchlow:  "I've always enjoyed racing at Cadwell Park and without a doubt today has been my best ever on a Superbike.  It's funny because I didn't have any expectations and simply went out determined to do my best and make sure I got two solid finishes. A few riders fell off and I benefited from that but that's racing - you have to finish to score points.

"The podium is getting closer and closer with every round and that is my target before the season ends.  Thanks to my Rizla Suzuki team for all their support over the course of the weekend, they worked non-stop and prepared two fantastic GSX-R1000s for me."

Chris Walker:  "I am pleased with sixth place. I think that was as good as we could have expected after a seven year absence from the circuit.  My Rizla Suzuki simply got better every time I rode it and I wish there was another day of racing because I think I could improve even further.

"I love Cadwell Park and even though I would have preferred a podium finish.  I have thoroughly enjoyed coming back to what is a spectacular circuit with the best fans in the world cheering us on."

Stunning Win for Roberts
Australian Brendan Roberts finally took to the top step of the podium for Buildbase Ducati at round nine of the Metzeler National Superstock Championship at Cadwell Park this weekend.  The talented youngster looked totally dominant throughout the 14-lap race and the weekend, which saw him take pole position, the lap record and the race win, a tidy hat-trick for Roberts and the team.

Roberts who is also competing in the FIM 1000 Superstock Cup with the Ducati Xerox Junior Team gave the UK based Buildbase Ducati team something to smile about when he took their first race win this season.  This was his first triumph in dry conditions after suffering serious damage to his right wrist at the beginning of the season and is a good sign that the injury is healing.

Roberts was on stunning form throughout the weekend on the Ducati 1098 and set impressive lap record breaking times throughout the qualifying sessions and broke his own personal lap record, which he set last year on a Kawasaki.  Sat at the top of the qualifying sheets in both sessions he was eager to take a race victory, as he last win in the British Championship was back in August last year at Croft Circuit.

A delighted Roberts commented “It’s been a great weekend and I’m really pleased to be back on the top of the podium in the British series.  It’s my first win in the dry since I did my wrist and a confidence builder for myself and hopefully proves that my it’s healing and I’m finally on the mend.  It’s been a long process and it’s been great for everyone."

"J Lav was second so the team couldn’t ask much more, everyone at Buildbase worked so hard and the team provided me with a great package and I was able to return the favor with achieving their first win this season.  I go to Germany the week after next and hopefully I can get some strong results there before coming back to Donington for a double barreled round.”

Qualifying
Rizla Suzuki's Cal Crutchlow continued his recent run of good form by taking a strong seventh place on the grid for tomorrow's Bank Holiday 11th round of the British Superbike Championship at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire.

He suffered a high-speed crash yesterday and lost valuable set-up time but that didn't deter him as he took nearly three-quarters of a second off his best - and the existing lap record of 1:27.704s - to secure his second row start.

Chris "Stalker" Walker is still re-learning the twisty, undulating and demanding 2.18-mile track after a seven year absence and continued to make swift progress, leaving his fastest lap - under the existing lap record - until the end and taking a third row start in 10th place. Ducati's Leon Haslam took pole position.

Cal Crutchlow:  "It's not quite the pole position we had last time out but the truth is we lost some set-up time and to get on the second row is a decent starting position.  After my crash in practice, my team mechanics were up until midnight and then back in the garage at 0700 fixing my bike so it's a big thank you to them all for their support - they are the unsung heroes."

"The forks on my Rizla Suzuki are right on the limit with no more suspension left through some of the corners.  That's something we can sort for the races and should help me to run further up the field."

Chris Walker:  "I have gone faster and faster with every session and as well as learning the track with every lap, my Rizla Suzuki is improving as well.  Starting from 10th on the grid is OK and I think we can better that in the races as my confidence grows."

"I have always enjoyed racing at Cadwell Park and nothing has changed in that respect since my last visit here in 2000.  The crowd is fantastic and really gives me a lift - I'm looking forward to putting on a good show in the races and hopefully giving the Stalker fans something to cheer about."

Simon Buckmaster - Team Manager:  "It's been another professional performance from Cal Crutchlow to get a second row start.  Achieving seventh when he is against a field of such depth and quality is an achievement and I'm sure if he had not lost practice time and run off using his first qualifying tyre, he may have been even higher.  He'll be going for the top six in the races.

"Chris has done a mega job to take 10th on the grid after being away from here for so long. Racing at Cadwell Park takes a lot of commitment and he lacks none of that; it also suits a fighter which is right up his street.  He is learning fast and if he keeps up his progress he'll be in the mix for the top six."

Qualification Times: 1: Leon Haslam (Ducati) 1:26.081 2: Jonathan Rea (Honda) +0.101 3: Tom Sykes (Honda) +0.346 4: Gregorio Lavilla (Ducati) +0.469 5: Ryuichi Kiyonari (Honda) +0.578 6: Leon Camier (Honda) +0.932 7: Cal Crutchlow (Rizla Suzuki) +0.972 8: Shane Byrne (Honda) +1.040 9: Tommy Hill (Yamaha) +1.335 10: Chris Walker (Rizla Suzuki) +1.44

Race Preview
August 26, 2007 - Rizla Suzuki star Chris "Stalker" Walker ranks Cadwell Park as one of his favorite circuits thanks to its demanding twists, turns and leaps, as well as the huge crowd it will attract for the 11th round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship this Bank Holiday Monday, August 27th.

There are no braver riders than Stalker; his hard-riding style has captured the hearts of the British public and made him the fans' favorite.

He is relishing the chance to perform in front of the biggest crowd of the year at the 2.18-mile long circuit and is optimistic after his last visit to the track in 2000 saw him take top honors.

Stalker said: "Cadwell Park is a special place for me and I really enjoy racing there. T he circuit is one of the hardest to master with everything from fast straights to hairpins and 20-foot long jumps - but that difficulty lends itself to my strengths and I love the place."

"The crowd always plays a big part in the BSB races at Cadwell Park.  It is a special atmosphere and I think more than any rider I am motivated by the support of the fans - the huge crowd will simply lift me and drive me to try even harder."

Rizla Suzuki's Cal Crutchlow travels to Cadwell Park on the crest of a wave after scoring his first Superbike pole position and best ever result with a fourth place at Croft earlier in the month.  "I think it is all coming together for me and Rizla Suzuki right now," explained Cal.

"My GSX-R1000 fits me like a glove and is doing exactly what I want it to and that gives me the confidence to push and challenge further up the field than ever before.  Realistically my target is a podium finish before the end of the season and I think it is achievable if we can keep up the momentum.  I'm enjoying my job and can't wait to get racing at Cadwell Park!"

Superbike racing over 18 laps starts at 1315 on Bank Holiday Monday, August 27th at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire, with the second race starting at 1640.

Cadwell Park lap records include: Superbike -- Ron Haslam with a 1.27.704; Supersport -- Cal Crutchlow at 1.30.784; Superstock -- Brendan Roberts with 1.31.752;
