Milan, November 2008 - This year, Moto Guzzi will
play four aces at the 66th Milan motorbike show in a
winning hand drawn from one of the widest ranges of
machinery in the sector.
They will begin with the
Special Edition Griso 8V SE that stands out with its
magnificent “Tenni” color scheme where shades of
satin green contrast beautifully with the lower
section of the bike that is dominated by the black
of the engine, suspension, frame and wheels. The
spoked wheels are fitted with versatile Pirelli
Scorpion tubeless tires.
This combination gives the
Guzzi naked a scrambler image that is added to by
the leather saddle and logos on the tank and tail
cone. This sophisticated naked is more than capable
of setting the pulse racing whether just standing
still or whether the 90° twin cylinder
“Quattrovalvole” 1200cc engine is at full song. This
Griso will be on the road in Europe from March 2009.
The Stelvio 1200 TT will make its debut with the
same engine but with new horizons and adventure in
mind. T his much loved Maxi Enduro will come with a
special pack of accessories for long-distance
touring that will also be available as optional
extras for those already lucky enough to own a Moto
Guzzi Maxi Enduro.
The extras include a sump protector,
engine protectors, aluminum panniers, cylinder
protection bars, CA.R.C. transmission protectors,
integral hand guards, additional headlights and, for
riders wanting to go off-road, an additional set of
knobby tires with a 150/70 R17 rear tire fitted to
a 4.25” rim.
In response to huge demand, the Stelvio
is now available with Brembo ABS brakes, while the TT pack version and its new magnesium twin
color
scheme will be available from February 2009.
Other new items include the new 750cc small-block
engines with the debut of the new V7 Café Classic
and the Nevada 750 that has enjoyed extensive
restyling.
Inspired by the legendary V7 Sport from 1972, the V7
Café Classic has the same streamlined style that, in
the early 70s, marked the birth of the Italian
sports Maxi.
Other components that are symbols of a
different era complete the picture like the low-set,
clip-on handlebars, the spoked wheels, the raised
silencers and the saddle with its integrated tail
cone, the instruments resemble the famed white-faced Veglia Borletti ones from the past and the new green
color scheme.
Technically speaking, the V7 Café
Classic differs from its Tourer sister in having
twin raised silencers that, apart from increasing
ground clearance, provide a sportier exhaust note
more suited to this model. The Café Classic will be
available in Italy from February 2009.
The Company has made a few technical and design
changes to the appearance of the Nevada 750, a
classic custom machine that now bears more
resemblance to the legendary California, Moto
Guzzi’s undisputed flagship. One of these changes is
the new burgundy color scheme
with silver pin striped tank just like the one on
the California Classic.
The exhaust system and
digital analogue instruments are also new and both
derive from the V7 Classic.
The Nevada will be available in Italy from February
2009 whereas the new 1200 Sport 4V is already
available from our dealerships following its launch
last month at the INTERMOT show in Cologne.
With its new graphics painting a picture of elegance
and sophistication, the exclusive look and technical
specifications of the new Moto Guzzi promise
performance.
The first thing you will notice is the
design as you look back along the panels and note
the clear rear lamp cluster and the new exhaust. This system now features an
aluminum silencer with
a triangular base below the “over and under” finned
exhaust pipes that symbolize Moto Guzzi power and
innovation.
The throbbing heart of the 1200 Sport 4V is the new
“Quattrovalvole” (four valve) engine that, thanks to
its unmistakable transverse V90 architecture,
cannot fail but to catch the eye. As the latest form
of the engine that was fitted to the Griso and
Stelvio, the “Quattrovalvole” on the 1200 SPORT 4V
differs in its intake and exhaust system. These
components were developed to offer better engine
response at medium to high revs and to match the
sporting character of the bike.
The engine puts out
over 105CV at 7500 rpm with 110Nm of torque at 6500
rpm. The engine also acts as a load-bearing
component of the tubular twin cradle frame. The
frame itself is made of high resistance steel that
provides solidity and rigidity.
In true Moto Guzzi tradition, only the best brakes
and suspension systems are used: Brembo gold series
brakes and Marzocchi forks grace the front end. The
brakes have radial mounted four-piston calipers
acting on 320 mm discs while the forks are a
traditional 45 mm unit.
The comfortable, excellent
riding position along with the forward position of
the handlebars give the rider complete control and
allow him to concentrate on enjoying the ride.
The 1200 Sport 4V is now available in the classic
black or in the original titanium grey color
scheme. Both these schemes perfectly offset the
white racing number plates on the screen and on the
saddle that is edged with a subtle green, white and
red stripe that celebrates the bike’s Italian
heritage.

2009 Moto Guzzi Griso 8V
SE
The Griso 8V SE is a Special Edition machine for
collectors from Moto Guzzi who designed this version
especially for the most demanding enthusiasts.
This
bike can be recognized immediately from its “Tenni”
color scheme, a beautiful shade of satin green
that enhances the sweeping lines of the frame and
the unmistakable architecture of the engine.
The
level of finish on the Griso 8V SE will more than
satisfy the most demanding enthusiast with features
that include a superb stitched leather saddle,
beautiful BER spoked wheels shod with Pirelli
Scorpion intermediate tires not to mention the
refined decorative color-coordinated logos of the
bike’s initials.
The modern transverse V 90 twin-cylinder
“Quattrovalvole” engine puts out about 110CV at only
7,500 rpm and power delivery from the Griso 8V SE is
silky smooth. On the open road the rider really can
come to appreciate a frame that keeps all that
horsepower under control.
The secret lies in the
high-tensile steel frame with twin upper supports
whose design owes little to aesthetics and much to
sophisticated engineering concepts that provide
exceptional rigidity under moments of extreme torsional stress.
The frame geometry had been
carefully calculated to provide stability with the
steering angle set at 26° and rake at 108 mm. The
wheelbase measures 1544 mm and the Griso 8V SE is
surprisingly maneuverable, even lightning fast in
changes of direction.
These handling characteristics are due to the low
centre of gravity and a rock solid off-set steering
head that provides an immediate response to pressure
on the handlebars. Taking the perfect line through a
corner becomes second nature.
The front end is glued
to the road thanks to upside-down forks from racing
stock. The 43 mm forks are adjustable for rebound
and compression.
Other details include the fabulous
new Brembo brake system made up of P4/34 radial
calipers that act on floating 320mm discs.
A Boge progressive suspension unit is fitted to the
rear and this too had three classic settings.

2009 Moto Guzzi Stelvio
1200 4V TT
The new Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200 4V TT has been
designed to tackle any journey. It simply eats up
the miles on and off-road thanks to a new special
pack of accessories for long-distance touring that
will also be available as optional extras for those
already lucky enough to own a Moto Guzzi Maxi
Enduro.
The extras include an oil sump protector, engine
protectors, aluminum panniers, cylinder protection
bars, CA.R.C. transmission protectors, integral hand
guards, additional headlights and, for riders
wanting to go off-road, an additional set of knobby
tires with a 150/70 R17 rear tire fitted to a 4.25”
rim.
This multi-purpose character is also high-lighted by
the new magnesium color scheme that is now added to
the three original Stelvio colors: racing red,
Guzzi black and pearl white.
The slim-line lower
section of the Stelvio is dominated by the superb
aluminum spoked wheels and by the engine and shaft
drive system. The Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200 4V has a
compact, muscular upper half and the great attention
paid to rider comfort is clear to see.
There are countless style details that reflect the
sense of purpose that lies behind the Stelvio. T hese
range from the twin headlights, the adjustable
screen and saddle, the generous size of the frame
cross members, the aluminum exhaust system and the
attention paid to looking after pillion passengers
and baggage.
Even the engine is part of the overall design and
highlights the “throbbing heart” of the Stelvio 1200
4V - the unmistakable transverse V 90 twin cylinder
high performance “Quattrovalvole” engine. A powerful
and passionate machine, the TT version of the
Stelvio 1200 4V really is ready to accept any
challenge.

2009 Moto Guzzi
V7 Café Classic
Inspired by the legendary V7 Sport from 1972, the V7
Café Classic has the same streamlined style that, in
the early 70s, marked the birth of the Italian
sports Maxi.
Other components that are symbols of a
different era complete the picture like the low-set
clip-on handlebars, the spoked wheels, the raised
silencers and the saddle with its integrated tail
cone, the instruments resemble the famed white-faced Veglia Borletti ones from the past and the new green
color scheme.
Technically speaking, the V7 Café Classic differs
from its Tourer sister in having twin raised
silencers that, apart from increasing ground
clearance, provide a sportier exhaust note more
suited to this model that, like its famed
predecessor, boasts exceptional road-holding.
The
key to this legendary road-holding lies in its twin
cradle frame with removable bolt-on lower
components. Great attention was paid to the steering
geometry where the rake is set at 27° 50’ to ensure
stability and precision when cornering.
Of no less
importance are the 40 mm Marzocchi forks. Travel on
the front suspension is 130 mm and works in
combination with two adjustable rear shock absorbers
with 118 mm travel.
Braking is looked after by a 320
mm floating disc at the front and a 260 mm disc at
the rear. The V7 Classic is fitted with 18” wheels
up front and 17” at the rear with high profile tires
so as to offer superb handling and feed-back
characteristics.
NOTE: Rumors have it that Moto Guzzi will
release a 940 cc version of the V7 Sport for 2010!

2009 Moto Guzzi Nevada
750
The underlying theme to the Nevada 750 is relaxed
riding. This model succeeds like no other in
achieving just that and, over the years, technical
and design changes have only made it even better.
The Company has made a few technical modifications
and design changes to the Nevada 2009, a classic
custom machine that now bears more resemblance to
the legendary California, Moto Guzzi’s undisputed
flagship. One of these changes is the new burgundy
color scheme with silver pin striped tank just like
the one on the California Classic.
The exhaust
system and digital analogue instruments are also new
and both derive from the V7 Classic.
Standard equipment is of the highest quality with
Marzocchi forks at the front and twin adjustable
shock absorbers at the rear.
The excellent brakes
feature a single front 320mm disc and a four-piston
caliper while there is a 260mm disc at the rear.
Electronic fuel injection provides silky smooth
performance and emission levels have been lowered by
new engine management software.

2009 Moto Guzzi 1200
Sport 4V
The look we already know but the 105 CV of “grunt”
from the “Quattrovalvole” engine is all new. The
power delivery is silky smooth and, on the open
road, the bike’s true sports character shines along
with numerous technical innovations and a new sense
of style.
The new “over and under” exhaust system
communicates the innate power and innovation of the
engine as does the new triangular base of the
silencer and the new clear rear lamp cluster. Better
performance ensures that the new 1200 SPORT 4V will
become an icon for riders seeking real sports
performance, not just show.
Good taste is assured by
the style that gives this Moto Guzzi its character. This style can be seen in the screen and the saddle
that house racing number plates like competition
models, it can be seen in the white-faced
instruments, in the Brembo Gold Series brakes and in
the set-back aluminum foot pegs.
Although the new Moto Guzzi 1200 SPORT 4V has a
decidedly sports type set-up, it is also an
excellent tourer with every detail well designed for
the rider and pillion passenger to travel in the
utmost comfort. The saddle is well padded and offers
great support, weight distribution is ideal and with
a low centre of gravity, the 1200 SPORT 4 V can
easily change direction very quickly on those twisty
roads that offer the rider such satisfaction.
The superb handling is due to the exceptional
rigidity of the twin cradle steel frame, the forks
and the fully adjustable shock absorber that
guarantee both comfort and excellent road holding. Those of you that go touring will really appreciate
the protection offered by the windscreen and how
this sports bike so easily becomes a real Grand Tourer complete with heated hand grips, panniers,
top box and satellite navigation system.
No matter the speed, the brakes provide very wide
safety margins and consist of twin 320 mm discs with
radial mounted four-piston calipers at the front and
a single 298 mm disc at the rear. The brake sizes
are the same on the ABS version.
In classic black or elegant titanium grey, the 1200
Sport 4V also stands out with its subtle green,
white and red stripe that celebrates the bike’s
Italian heritage.

2009 Moto Guzzi V7
Classic
In 1967, the motorcycle market reeled in shock at
the appearance of the first Italian maxi motorcycle:
Created by the legendary Giulio Cesare Carcano, the
Moto Guzzi V7 marked the debut of the transverse V90
twin-cylinder 703 cc engine that set a record at
that time.
The V7 was enthusiastically acclaimed by
the press and public. This success helped the
worldwide promotion of Moto Guzzi’s image as
manufacturers of an exclusive, elegant, comfortable
and above all, highly reliable motorcycle.
For many people, owning a V7 was one of the most
important things in their lives. It left them with
unforgettable memories that reminded them of their
younger days, of friends and of journeys made
together and made that time perhaps one of the
highest points in Moto Guzzi’s history.
After a
further forty years of success and, as part of Moto Guzzi’s worldwide re-launch project, the flame of
creativity shines brightly once more in the new V7
Classic. The V7 has character to spare and is a
superb interpretation of the fundamental beauty of
the original V7 but this time incorporating all the
latest technology that was unavailable to its
predecessor.
The new machine is fully up-to-date with its
equipment levels, frame engineering and 750cc Euro 3
engine. The V7 Classic brings to mind the late 60s
with the line of the tank that nestles comfortably
on the tubular frame and runs back to meet the
saddle.
This, in turn, is perfectly flat and blends
in gracefully with the rear mudguard. The side
panels house the same stowage compartments that so
stylishly set off the side view of the original
machine.
Times gone by can also be seen in the gleaming
chrome finish on the exhaust system, the shock
absorbers, rear light cluster, front headlight and
comfortable handlebars.
Just as on its predecessor,
the wheels too are spoked and shod with high profile
sports tires. The instrument panel houses analogue
dials with suitably “dated” graphics.
Although the V7 Classic is somewhat smaller than
other Moto Guzzis, it is ideally suited for carrying
pillion passengers with a comfortable saddle,
convenient handholds and well positioned footpegs.
The Classic is easy to ride, instinctive and creates
a feeling of confidence right from the first time
you climb aboard. The manageable size and excellent
riding position are perfect for both town use and
longer mixed journeys. Owners will no doubt have to
answer countless questions from curious onlookers
about the white machine they are riding when it
looks just an original 1969 V 7 Special …

2009 Moto Guzzi Breva
V1200 - V850
Breva – the name of a wind that sends ripples over
the surface of Lake Como bringing good weather. This
is a name that, two years on from the launch of the Breva V1100, recalls the sheer quality and glorious
past of Moto Guzzi.
While consolidating the success
of the Breva, new technical solutions have been
developed and introduced during the MG range
renovation project and these modifications have been
included in the new Breva V1200. There are over 60
such changes over the previous 1064cc model.
Capacity was increased by widening the bore from 92
to 95 mm and stroke from 80 to 81.2 mm leading to a
new capacity of 1151 cc. New piston rods and pistons
are joined by a nitride-treated crankshaft and Nymonic exhaust valves.
The engine is lubricated by
a lobe pump system and the oil circuit has been
modified to include a special duct carrying cooled
oil to the heads for the exhaust valves. The exhaust
system has also been modified and now includes
double chamber manifolds and a silencer with an
integrated catalyzer. This has removed the need for
the compensator that was on the V 1100 where the
manifolds met.
The result is an engine that provides more lift at
medium revs even though it puts out a hefty 95 CV at
7,500 rpm and maximum torque of 100 Nm at 5,800 rpm.
Eighty-five percent of the torque is available
between 2,300 and 4,800 rpm.
The engine uses a specially evolved Marelli
Multipoint sequential ECU that takes care of the
fuel injection system. A stepper motor and twin
spark system, apart from dealing with instant
starting, provide smooth power delivery, excellent
fuel consumption and low emissions that are well
within Euro 3 standards.
Sure-footed, safe, comfortable and stable even at
high speed, this naked is, by nature, perfectly
suited for high performance riding but can also be
docile and versatile making it ideal for all sorts
of uses.
The Breva V1200 is a hybrid sports/tourer
that adapts itself to a rider’s personality and
whims and lets us experience once again, the sheer
pleasure of riding a machine that is an object of
universal admiration. There can be no doubt that the Breva V1200 is exactly what puts Moto Guzzi at the
top of the league in terms of riding pleasure.

2009 Moto Guzzi Norge 1200
and 850
You can see right from the start that this machine
was designed to eat up the miles. The fairing for
instance, is an integral part of the machine and
seems like a natural extension of the bike itself.
But it is not alone; each component on the Norge has
been designed to offer complete protection.
The integrated fairing also protects the legs and
reduces spray at the rear meaning excellent overall
protection regardless of the weather. The
electrically adjustable screen (manual on the T and
850) protects the rider’s upper half from the wind
and can be set to suit differing riding conditions.
The powerful headlight unit with four
poly-helicoidal lamps offers superb visibility even
under the poorest of lighting conditions as well as
adding charisma to the machine with an aggressive,
feline look. This design once again enhances the
blend of form and function.
Under the elegant skin that conceals its measured
aggression, lies an 850 or 1200cc transverse twin
cylinder V90 engine. Both these units are quite
astonishing for their lack of vibration and the fact
that they blend miserly consumption, and minimum
emissions with high performance.
Moto Guzzi twin engines are renowned for their
temperament. They offer immense pulling power even
at low revs and always deliver plenty of torque over
a car-like power band.
These characteristics ensure a comfortable,
undemanding ride during which the rider can fully
appreciate the smooth six-speed gearbox and the
innovative CA.R.C. system. CA.R.C. stands for
“Cardano Reattivo Compatto” or Reactive Shaft Drive
Transmission.
Only once aboard the Norge can you
fully savor all the little details that make this
bike so special. The anti-slip saddle that is just
800 mm from the ground is filled with special foam
that adapts to the shape of the rider.
The foot pegs
are covered with an anti-vibration coating, the
sumptuous “cockpit” houses a superb instrument panel
including an easily read trip computer that, besides
showing travel details, (past and present) also
displays service intervals and a check control
system.
There is also an external 220 Volt socket, a
spacious compartment under the saddle, the
possibility of heated handlebar grips (optional on
the 850) and many other details including adjustable
suspension and integrated passenger handles.

2009 Moto Guzzi Bellagio
The new 2009 Bellagio is one of the coolest looking
cruisers on the road! So much so that we
created a separate
2009 Moto Guzzi Bellagio page with more photos
and specifications on this very interesting bike.

2009 Moto Guzzi
California Vintage
Thirty-five years have gone by, but Moto Guzzi still
plays a leading role in the collective imagination
of motorcyclists all over the world.
When the first
model came out in 1971, the custom market was
divided between the original USA-plated models and
imitations from the East. Moto Guzzi introduced a
motorbike with a strong personality, based on their
tested frame used on the V7 Special and on the
legendary 757cc, 90 degree V engine.
This was a
winning pair that brought international success as
it also offered a new way to ride a bike, countering
the exasperated search for performance. On the Guzzi
California it was, and is, possible to travel in
total relaxation.
The saddle which is as comfortable
as an armchair allowed the rider to enjoy the
landscape protected from the wind behind the large
windscreen that was fitted as standard along with
the pannier bags; both a clear sign of the bike's
vocation for trips.
Thanks to these very qualities,
the V7 California was also a success across the
ocean, and was adopted by the LAPD (Los Angeles
Police Department) and later by other American
States. The rest is history. The California can be
seen in films and advertisements. It has become a
part of the list of industrial design objects that
have marked our history. Its legendary two wheels
have never stopped and it has never stopped
evolving.
Year after year, the design and technology
have been updated, while maintaining its original
character and spirit. Thirty five years after its
creation, Moto Guzzi has decided to pay a tribute to
this extraordinary motorbike, creating an exclusive
Vintage version that is dedicated to anyone who
wants to carry on dreaming.
Technology and tradition have inspired the various
changes that define the character of the California
Vintage, which has become a cult object even before
being launched.
The image of the past can be seen in
its fantastic radial-spoked wheels, in the
new-design steel mudguards, the new front Brembo
calipers and the extra fog lights controlled by a
switch on the right-hand side.
The model has been personalized to the tiniest of details. The
windscreen has been adorned with a stainless steel
band. The handlebars are exclusive to this model, as
is the two-tone saddle. The classic engine is
protected by chrome-plated steel pipes.
The special
panniers bags are waterproofed, permanently attached
to the bike and protected by chrome-plated steel
pipes. The parcel rack is chrome-plated providing a
luxurious tourist look.
The California Vintage is a
precious object that has to be guarded carefully
with due care and attention. For this reason, Moto
Guzzi has created a special motorbike cover, for
this bike where luxury is standard.
